Membership Details

What if I don't want to send the clothes back?

With Bodhi Baby, you receive a new box every month. Once your new set arrives, your first set is due back to us — so we can share the clothes with the next family.

If you want to keep a size for longer, you can just let us know. 

If you want to keep an item forever, you totally can! Just send the rest back, and we will charge your account for the item you kept. (This charge will reflect the value of the item. If it was brand new, we will charge you retail pricing. If it was used, we will charge you used pricing.)

If you keep everything from the set and send nothing back to us, we will charge you the full value of the set. This is because Bodhi Baby is a rental system — our goal is to share the clothes among as many families as possible.

Is the clothing new or used?

Our boxes are filled with a mix of new and gently used (what we call pre-loved) items. Because items get worn out at different rates, we have a staggered replacement system — in one box you might get one new item mixed in with mostly used.

We inspect each item before it goes out, to make sure it’s still like-new. Everything is thoroughly cleaned before it's boxed up and sent to you.

How many items are in a box?

Bodhi Baby offers three box sizes based on your needs:

The Mini is 20% of your baby's wardrobe and has 5 items.

The Med is 50% of your baby's wardrobe and has 10 items.

The Full contains 100% of your baby's wardrobe and has 20 items.

You can mix and match to make more outfits with slightly more items — while still using a minimal amount of clothing. (That's why we say 20 items can be 100% of baby's wardrobe.)

What if I want to take a break or cancel my membership?

There is no commitment with a Bodhi Baby membership, so you can pause or cancel at any time. Just go into your account and make the change!

How often do I get a new box?

We send you a new boxed every 1 month OR every 3 months — depending on your subscription level.

But, we know that babies grow at different rates, so just change the shipping frequency in your account if you need new items sooner or want to delay your next set of rentals.

As always, you can contact us if you need help managing your shipping frequency.

Do I have to buy anything?

Nope! Renting with Bodhi Baby means you can rent what you need for your baby with no commitment to buy. 

You do have the ability to buy something if you choose. Just keep it and send the rest of your set back. We will charge your account the appropriate price for the item once your set is returned. 

The amount we charge you for the item will reflect how long we've had it in circulation. If it was brand new, we will charge you retail pricing. If it was pre-loved, we will charge you used pricing.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is always free, both ways. We provide a USPS prepaid shipping label and return bag with every box so you can send back your set.

What sizes do you offer?

We offer clothing for babies — preemie through 24 months. We plan to offer more sizes in the future!

What kind of clothing is in a box?

All the brands we feature meet our strict standards for sustainable fabrics (like GOTS Organic Cotton and Bamboo), ethical manufacturing, and community care.

As for the type of items, we pack each box with the true essentials. These are the items your baby spends most of their time in, like onesies and stretchy pants. (We don't carry any special clothing like holiday outfits — yet!)

To see what clothes are in a box, go ahead and start filling out the preferences questionnaire, where you can pick between warm/cool weather, boy/girl/gender neutral, etc.

Care Instructions

What about laundry?

We ask you to treat our items with care — as if you had borrowed them from a friend. Just follow the care instructions on the tag when it's time to wash the clothes.

Please do not modify the items in any way (such as removing labels). 

If there is a potential stain, feel free to soak the item or attempt to remove the stain as long as you follow the instructions on the care label.

When you send the items back to us, we ask that you return them in acceptable condition. If things are shipped with food or bodily fluids on them — we could lose our partnership with the shipping companies.

Finally, once the clothes are returned to us, we give everything a thorough washing. We use biodegradable laundry detergents and an energy efficient washer-dryer.

What happens if I lose or stain an item?

To avoid being charged for an item, we offer optional insurance for $8/month to cover all repairable damages, like stains or missing buttons.

If any item is damaged beyond repair, is not returned, or is lost/stolen, we will charge you the cost of the item. (This charge will reflect the value of the item. If it was brand new, we will charge you retail pricing. If it was used, we will charge you used pricing.)
